For Questions Regarding

  • When your child is absent:

    • Call to notify the school office.
    • When your child returns to school, send a signed note within 5 school days, giving dates and reasons for the absence from a parent, medical professional, or court official.
    • The letter should include the current date, the date(s) of absences, child’s full name, and the reason the child was absent.

If the child is absent 5 consecutive school days or more due to illness, a doctor’s note is required within 5 school days of the student’s return to school for the absence to be excused.

    Unexcused Absences

If an absence does not meet the criteria for an excused absence, the absence will be considered unexcused for attendance accounting purposes. Examples of unexcused absences include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Any absence without required documentation.
    • Family trips/vacations, reunions, weddings, parent business trips.
    • Non-school sponsored activities. • Private lessons or tutoring.
    • Religious retreats, camps, mission trips, and individual rites other than a religious holy day.
    • Non-enrollment days – These are days that a student is not in school due to transferring to another LCISD campus or alternative placement.Truancy documentation can be filed after ten unexcused absences.

Absence notes can be emailed to Vianey Campbell vianey.campbell@lcisd.org.

  • Birthday Treat Guidelines
Treats will be shared at the end of the school day. Please remember:

    • This is a simple treat time, not a party—no party favors, treat bags, balloons, flowers, or commercial food deliveries.

    • One store-bought, single-serve treat per classmate (like a cupcake or cookie) is allowed so it can be served, enjoyed, and cleaned up quickly.

    • Ingredients will be reviewed by our nurse to ensure safety for students with allergies.

While parents and grandparents may provide food for their own child’s birthday, please know that they assume responsibility for any adverse reactions.
We ask that families consider avoiding bringing in food to:

    • Protect instructional time

    • Keep students with allergies and medical needs safe

    • Avoid liability concerns

Thank you for helping us keep celebrations fun, safe, and focused on learning!

  • Bus Rider Information
All students will receive an ID tag on the first day of school. Newly enrolled students to Lamar CISD will receive their tags by the end of the first week. Students are required to ride the bus assigned by LCISD Transportation and get off only at their designated stop. For safety reasons, students may not ride the bus to another student’s home.

Riding the bus is a privilege, and students must follow the behavior expectations outlined in the LCISD Elementary Handbook.

Special Rules for Pre-K & Kindergarten Bus Riders

    • All Pre-K and Kindergarten bus riders must be met at their stop by a parent, guardian, or designated adult.

    • The responsible person must show identification and present a blue card to pick up a Pre-K or Kindergarten student from the bus stop.

    • The blue card procedure ensures that only individuals authorized by the parent (listed as emergency contacts in Skyward) may receive the student.

If a parent wishes for a Pre-K or Kindergarten student to be released to an older sibling at the bus stop:

    1. The parent must write the older sibling’s name on the back of the blue card and sign it, giving permission.

    2. The older sibling must have the signed blue card with them every day.

    3. If the sibling does not have the blue card, the younger student will return to campus for parent pick-up.

If no authorized adult or older sibling is present at the bus stop, the Pre-K/Kindergarten bus rider will be returned to the home campus.

    Bus Route & Tracking
Lamar CISD uses Versatrans My Stop for bus information. You can view your child’s route, stops, and estimated arrival/drop-off times by visiting: Versatrans My Stop Login

    • To log in, use your student’s ID number and date of birth.

    • You can also download the Versatrans My Stop App to see real-time arrival information.

    • Guardians register one student, and additional students in the same household will be added to the account.

For more details, visit the Lamar CISD Transportation Website.

  • Morning Car Rider Arrival
For everyone’s safety and to keep traffic moving, all car riders must use the front of the school for drop-off.

When entering the parent loop, please form two lanes at the entry, then merge into a single lane as you approach the front of the school. Pull all the way forward to the staff member on the sidewalk before stopping.

Students should be ready to exit quickly with backpacks, lunches, and other items in hand. They must exit on the passenger side only—students should not get out on the driver’s side or walk around the car, as this is dangerous. Assigned staff members will assist younger students to the front door.

Parents, please remain in your vehicle at all times. As soon as your child is safely out, pull forward and exit the line.

Cell phone use is prohibited in the drop-off lane—thank you for helping keep all students safe.

To improve traffic flow, we ask all families to turn right on Easton Ramsey Way when leaving the front parking lot.

The rear parking lot is reserved for staff, buses, and families of students in ECSE, Pegasus, and SLC who are dropping off via car.

    Afternoon Car Rider Pick-Up
All car rider pick-up takes place at the front of the school.

When entering the parent loop, please form two lanes at the entry, then merge into a single lane as you approach the front of the school. Parents must remain in their vehicle and in line. Parking and walking across to get your child is not allowed unless approved by administration, as this causes delays and is unsafe.

Car Tags are required at all times. Cars without a visible tag will be directed to park and go inside the front office for ID verification before the child is released (no exceptions).

    • If you did not receive your car tag at Meet the Teacher, you may pick it up at the table in the hallway after dropping off your child on the first day only. After that, tags can be picked up in the front office.

We use a number system for pick-up. Each student (or family of siblings) is assigned a number, which will be printed on your car tag. If siblings were given different numbers, please stop by the car rider tag table to have it corrected. Help your child memorize their number for a quicker dismissal.

Hang the car tag from your rear-view mirror and keep it visible until your child is safely in the car.

Students will wait at a numbered pillar with a staff member. Pull up so your car door is aligned with your child’s pillar. Students must enter from the passenger side only—crossing in front of or between cars is not allowed.

Once your child is inside and buckled, you may carefully pull into the left lane to bypass other cars still loading and exit the drive. We ask all families to turn right onto Easton Ramsey Way when leaving the front parking lot to improve traffic flow.

Thank you for your patience as we safely dismiss all of our Foxes each afternoon.

  • Dismissal Times & Procedures

    • Dismissal begins at 3:10 PM.
    • We know it might take a few days to develop a routine that works for your family. It is very important that students’ transportation is consistently set as soon as possible.

    • Please be patient during the first few weeks of school as we work out the kinks and learn our new systems together.

    • All students will be dismissed following their designated dismissal method: car riders, bus riders, daycare, or on-site afterschool program.

🚫 Please note: For safety reasons, we will not have walkers or bike riders as a dismissal group.
All students zoned to Fagert Elementary are eligible for bus transportation. Due to the high volume of traffic and the number of campuses within the complex, we are prioritizing student safety by not offering walker or biker dismissal at this time.

  • Tops: Collared (polo-style) shirts in any color are allowed. Students may also wear school-approved spirit shirts any day of the week.

Bottoms: Solid black, gray, navy blue, khaki, or blue denim jeans (without rips or holes) are acceptable. This includes pants, capris, skirts, skorts, shorts, or jumpers. Dresses may be worn in any color.

Leggings/Tights: Leggings may be worn. Tights (if worn) must be worn under shorts, skirts, or jumpers.

  • Parents and guardians must complete the online enrollment process through the Enrollment & Transfers portal. Once completed, please bring the required documents to the front office at Fagert Elementary, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

    Additional Registration Information
After completing the online form, please bring the following documents to the front office to complete the registration process:

    • Original birth certificate

    • Original Social Security card

    • Current immunization records

    • Proof of residence (e.g., closing documents, lease agreement, utility bill)

  • Stay Connected with Fagert – Download the Parent Square App!

As we kick off our first year at Fagert Elementary, we want to make sure our Fox families stay connected every step of the way! This year, ParentSquare will be our primary tool for school-to-home communication.

LCISD is moving toward using one central communication hub for all schools, departments, and activities—and that’s ParentSquare! Whether it’s announcements, newsletters, reminders, or quick updates, ParentSquare is where it will all happen.

We strongly encourage all Fagert parents and guardians to download the free ParentSquare app to receive timely updates from our school, teachers, and district. It’s the best way to stay in the loop about everything happening in our Fox den!

Let’s stay connected and make this a fantastic first year for our Fagert Foxes!

    Download the ParentSquare mobile app.

    Spirit Wear

  • All students will receive an ID badge on the first day of school. Newly enrolled students to Lamar CISD will receive theirs by the end of the first week. Each student will be issued one ID badge, a plastic cover, and a lanyard.

Students should wear their badge every day, as it is used for safety and for accessing school services such as library checkout, lunch, and bus transportation.

Badges can only be replaced if they are lost or misplaced. Extra badges cannot be purchased. If a replacement is needed, parents may request one in the front office for $5.

  • Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 7:45 a.m. If your child arrives late, a parent or guardian must accompany them to the front office to sign them in before they proceed to class. Late arrivals not only impact your child's learning but can also disrupt the classroom environment for others. Please note that frequent tardies or early checkouts may result in truancy concerns and could prompt a review of your family's residency status.

  • All transportation changes must be submitted to the front office no later than 2:15 p.m. Changes can be made by calling the front office at (832) 223-7700 or by sending a written note with your child.
Please note: Transportation changes cannot be accepted via email.
